back from the ozarks
rogers, arkansas: population 48,000.
damn, is it green over there, and thick, too! it’s like a jungle.
and the fireflies…. i dig fireflies. apparently a lot.
We spent the first day basically napping - I flew into Tulsa, OK at 2pm. I quickly found Athena, and we went out to the baggage claim. slight problem: the power was out. we waited around for them to shuttle the baggage up, which only took maybe 15 minutes - time that we spent hugging and trying to figure out what happened. The next two hours were spent in the car, with me bug eyed over how green it was, and the next two taking a nap and catching up.
The next day, we headed up to Eureka Springs, AR, a beautiful small town, filled with random, neat back alleys/staircases, and (awesome timing) the tail end of the Festival of Art. We walked around a bit, got delicious chocolate covered strawberries. We had dinner at a cute little Italian restaurant (DeVito’s). Great food.
We spent the next morning on the pavilion, drinking coffee and chatting with Athena’s mom, dilly-dallying before heading to the Fayetteville Farmer’s Market. After the market, we headed to Gaylord’s - who makes the best blueberry pancakes I’ve ever had - and then to her close friend’s bead shop. I started on a necklace for her (I hope I got enough hemp to make it a necklace… if not, I may have to alter my plans…), and bought beads to make my sister a necklace.
I wont bore you with more details (but feel free to ask). On to the photos!
