the daily dub

After working for Apple for two weeks, with only my powerbook at my side, and a 1.85GHz G5 tower and eMac at work, I miss my 2.0 GHz AMD Athlon 2800 linux box.

I also miss Lindsay, my parents (how odd), and having my own room. Its weird realizing how disconnected I’ve been. I also feel very uncreative lately. A bit disillusioned too.

Its weird working for Apple. Its a dream come true, but I keep thinking I’m gunna wake up. That would suck.

Anyways, here’s to Linz, Linux, and Love for Family.

red: LM has a doctor onsite too… I haven’t asked.
ryan: I can see it now:

Bill (The Engineer): “uh, doc, just remove the missile from my rectum without touching it.. if you touch it it could explode”
doc: “what this missle?”

….

*BOOM*

doc: “Its okay kid, the first time always hurts…”

red: excited about work tomorrow?
ryan: yea, feels kinda like christmas.
red: not really… more like the eve of the arrival of the four horsemen
ryan: I’m working for Apple, remember? Not government defense contractors. I’ll have weekends off.
red: god damnit.

My networks final did something no one expected: it delved into the alcoholic haze of Freshman year, and digged up and dragged out an algorithm we haven’t had to know for 4 years: Dijkstra’s Algorithm.

Being blindsided by that, as well as the TCP psuedoheader (both of which I’ve had experience with, but have since forgotten the particularities involved therein), and Virtual Circuit Packet Switching, I fell I may have jeopordized my grade in this class. Fuck, I was doing so damned well, too.

Dijkstra’s Fucking Algorithm? I’ll give you a shortest path: from my boot to your ass.
