Point Reyes
Yesterday was about the most relaxing day I’ve had in a long time. My mom, uncle, sister, and cousin all came down from Sacramento, stopped off at Hog Island Oyster Company, bought 4 dozen oysters, and then met us at South Beach in Point Reyes. Athena and I brought out new road trip barbecue, and grilled about 8 oysters, and we all just ate the rest raw.
My mom got a new puppy – he was so cute, a tiny little thing named Dexter. Lancer was definitely jealous of the new dog getting so much attention, but he eventually got over it.
We hung out until sunset, then drove home. Just before we left, Athena got a call from an unknown number. She answered the phone as if it was a work phone call: “Hello, this is Athena.” “Oh no,” I was thinking, “not work.” But, thankfully, I was way off… It was the director of The Gondoliers calling to inform her that she has been cast in the chorus of the show!
I’m so excited she’s got a theater part – she’s been wanting to get back into it for so long.
