Going away party

Posted by rdub in Musings

Don’t you just love it when you go to a party and you only know two people… it’s even better when one just happens to be leaving when you get there.

I went out tonight to wish a friend farewell to London. I played 3 rounds of pool with another guy named Ryan (who’s just as bad as I am), and about 4 games of darts. After that, about 5 of us headed out for fish tacos and called it a night.

I topped the night off by coming home and watching Sleepy Hollow (which, if you’ve already seen it, is actually quite comical… great movie, though).

I’ve been informed that the lyrics (and probably the title) of “Melt My Heart” have been “nexted.”

Kinda makes me smile…

Jam Session

Ryan Joseph and I had our best jam session ever yesterday. We recorded the whole thing in my kitchen (imagine that). Most of the songs, in my opinion, sounded the best they’ve ever sounded. We’re both really excited about it. We even recorded a new original song, “Melt My Heart.” The lyrics and title are a bit experimental (both made up on the fly), but yea. Let us know if you like it.

Here’s the set list (click on each, and listen to the track):
1. Angel From Montgomery – John Prine
2. #41 – Dave Matthews Band
3. Steal My Kisses – Ben Harper
4. Flake – Jack Johnson (rough take)
5. Bartender – Dave Matthews Band
6. All Along the Watchtower – Bob Dylan
7. Melt My Heart – The Ryan’s (Original)

Alternatively, feel free to download the whole set at once with this link: Dec 06, 2007: Jam Session.

No nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.

From this article – a great read.
