the daily dub

holy shit, I just noticed that this month is the daily dub’s 3 year anniversary of musing, ranting, and shutterpunking….

rock on.

it always takes me a few tries to get back into poetry. I’m trying to finish off my second CD (well, really, trying to start it…) so i need to get back in the swing of things.

three rounds
buzzing down
the lights are on,
let’s hit the town

spinning ’round
and on the ground
now i think:
what’s this i’ve found?

on the wind
it rides away
caution rescinds
another day

and on the deck
i lie charred
ship wrecked
and laughing hard

the siren song
pulls me along
toward the goal
a teeming throng

and off i go
in a trance
to share the gift
of reckless dance

I’ve been wanting to purchase an actual electric guitar (I play an electric/acoustic hybrid) for some time now. Last night, I finally went over to guitar center, spent a couple hours playing some of my favorite songs (including Minus the Bear) on a bagillion different guitars, and ended up falling in love with a Paul Reed Smith Custom 22.

The guitar plays like a dream, feels nice and sturdy, and looks beautiful. After coming home, reading a few reviews (all in the high 9′s), talking it over with my girlfriend, and asking my close friend Ryan, I turned right around, drove back to guitar center, and dropped a fat wad of cash to bring this baby home.
